Regularisation not raids

Sign the petition and stand with undocumented migrants

Headlines are full of reports of Starmer’s cruel immigration raids, shattering the lives of thousands of undocumented migrants. Many of the Labour government’s targets are our friends and neighbours, subject to raids while working in the gig economy delivering meals, in hair salons painting nails, on farms preparing food, and in care homes looking after our elderly.

This is not the change British people voted for. Labour pandering to the far right has only strengthened Reform’s vote share – as polling shows. Instead, the UK must stand for human rights and a culture of welcome towards undocumented migrants, some of the most precarious and vulnerable – yet critical supporters – of our community and society. Sign the Regularise petition now and tell the UK government to ease the path to regularisation for undocumented workers.

As things stand, some undocumented migrants have to be resident for 20 years before their status in the UK can be regularised. This petition calls for that waiting period to be reduced to 5 years. The UK’s waiting periods are some of the longest in Europe. In Italy, the waiting period is 10 years, and the country is about to vote in a referendum to reduce that period to 5 years. In Spain, plans are underway to legalise 300,000 undocumented migrants per year. Ireland recently held an amnesty for undocumented migrants. The UK is far behind and needs to urgently legislate to reduce the residency period.

Another Europe is Possible is funded and run by its members. We don’t receive millions of pounds from corporations like the lobbyists do. Without the help of supporters, we couldn’t continue our work.

That’s why we’re asking you to join Another Europe today, so we can continue facing the battles ahead together.
